Swimming Club Trials

All Swimming Club trials are held in Guinea Gap's training pool onthe first Tuesday of every month at 7:15pm

If you are interested in joining our swimming club then please come down at this time.

For these trials you will need to bring with you:

  1. Swimming trunks/costume
  2. A pair of goggles
  3. A towel to dry yourself
  4. A bag which will be useful to put all your clothes in whilst you do your trial.

Trials take about 10 minutes and swimmers will be asked to demonstrate the minimum of 50m Front Crawl, 50m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke. Do not worry if they are not perfect, that's what the coaches are here for. You will be told there and then if you have passed the trial.

To have a trial you should be of a good standard and ideally have had swimming lessons up to Stage 6 or be recommended by your swimming teacher.

If you have passed you will be informed about training, membership and what will happen next.

If unfortunately you fail to pass then do not despair, go and practice your strokes for a few months and then come back when you feel you're ready. Do not be afraid to ask the coach who took your trial for some tips on what you need to improve on. The coaches are always friendly and want to help.

We hope to see you down for trials soon.
